at the pay gap that still exists between men and women, despite it being forty
years since the Equal Pay Act came into force. The Equality and Human Rights
Commission is calling on organisations to do more to close the gap and I’m sure
you’ll all agree this is a cause we need to back.

We all acknowledge that the economic downturn has been
a very challenging time for businesses across the South East. As many of you
know, SEEDA has also been through significant change during this time. As a
result of central government funding cuts, reductions in property values and a
need to effectively respond to changing business needs, SEEDA has re-structured
