E-Newsletter - January 2010
Happy New Year and welcome to the January issue of the SEEDA Women’s Enterprise Ambassadors Network newsletter.
May I first take this opportunity to introduce myself as your new SEEDA contact and say how pleased I am to be involved with the Women’s Enterprise Ambassadors Network. I hope to meet many of you in person soon.
This month’s news stories highlight Advocate and Ambassador participation in speaking opportunities at schools across the South East, intending to inspire the next generation of female entrepreneurs. If you are interested in speaking at a school in your area, please contact Joanna Ashmead at Prowse & Company.
We’ve also been busy placing media articles about women businesses in the media, keeping the profile of women’s enterprise high across the South East region.
Additionally, we are delighted to welcome Jacky Charman as our new Social Enterprise Advocate. Jacky runs a social enterprise company which works with people from deprived communities and which she set up following her personal experiences of losing everything in the last recession.
Finally, we bring you news of a push by the Institute of Directors to encourage more female members and an invitation to attend a Social Media Briefing on Friday 5th February, when Ambassador Karen Skidmore, from CanDoCanBe, will take us through the principles of using social media to boost business.
I do hope you find plenty of useful information in this issue and may I wish you every success in 2010.
Best wishes,
Claire Gillon
