E-Newsletter - February 2010
Welcome to the February issue of the SEEDA Women’s Enterprise Ambassadors Network newsletter.
These past few weeks, I have been busy acquainting myself with my new role at SEEDA. In the process, it was a pleasure to meet some of you personally at the Social Media Briefing on Friday 5th February. May I extend my thanks to Karen Skidmore of CanDoCanBe for enlightening us on the merits of introducing Social Media into the workplace. I know I am not alone in feeling inspired by the enthusiasm generated at the event.
In the news stories this month, two more Advocates have taken part in the school speaking programme, inspiring students at Sussex schools to consider entrepreneurship. There are a number of opportunities in Surrey schools for Ambassadors to become business mentors and, if you are interested in speaking at a school in your area, please contact Joanna Ashmead at Prowse & Company.
Also, this month, we report on Purple Truffle, a South East business success story which was helped by a grant from Train to Gain’s ‘Leadership and Management Advisory Service’. Please read on to find out if your company could profit from Train to Gain funding.
Other items of interest will be the SEEDA report on the state of the region’s economy and the Monthly Economic Dashboard. Finally, we bring you news of an accolade awarded to South East company, Women’s Wisdom.
I do hope you find this issue interesting and may I take this opportunity wish you every success with your business.
Best wishes,
Claire Gillon
